Success…is about alignment between who you are and where you choose to be… The most important… alignment [is] being connected to… friends and loved ones who help you become the person you want to be.
Eric Barker
In his book, Barking Up the Wrong Tree: The Surprising Science Behind Why Everything You Know About Success is (Mostly) Wrong, Eric Barker shares this quote about why it is important to align yourself with the right people. I agree that deepening relationships with people you are important to is critical to one’s happiness. He makes a case for why it is also important to your success.
His second book, which I have not read yet, appears to delve into that topic further: Plays Well with Others: The Surprising Science Behind Why Everything You Know About Relationships Is (Mostly) Wrong.
Crochet notes
The big hearts are from my Lisa Daehlin (follow her on Instagram @lisasingsnyc) who sings, designs lace knitting, and crochets. She makes these hearts and tags them with a note with #LovePeopleBeKind. The little ones I made a few years ago. I bring them out this time of year.
Happy Valentine’s Day! May you align yourself with the right people and find happiness and success!
